Our Story: A Journey of Perseverance
Our story is one of passion and resilience. Founded in 2000, our core team came together by 2002 with a shared dream: to create a dedicated, physical space for Urdu literature and local writers. This dream took a major step forward in 2012 with a foundational donation of over 900 Urdu books from The Punjab Library Foundation.
The path wasn't easy. For more than a decade, this precious collection—and our community—moved from temporary homes in Lilburn (2013) to Suwannee (2016), and from long-term storage to a brief stop in Johns Creek (2024). Through every move, our commitment never wavered. In early 2025, we were thrilled to finally open the doors to our permanent home, a place where these books and our community can finally flourish.
Our Mission
For over two decades, our mission has been twofold: to provide a supportive platform for writers of all backgrounds to develop their craft, and to preserve and promote the rich literary traditions of the Urdu language.
We aim to be a central hub for literary arts, offering resources, workshops, and a welcoming space for both aspiring authors and seasoned professionals to connect and grow.
The Urdu Library
The heart of our organization. Born from a 2012 donation of over 900 books from The Punjab Library Foundation, our collection has been on a 12-year journey. Today, it stands proudly in its permanent home, serving as a vital resource for scholars, students, and anyone interested in the language.
Beyond books, the library hosts language classes, cultural events, and reading circles to celebrate and pass on this beautiful heritage to future generations.
